Biodiesel can be used as fuel in diesel vehicles or as an environmentally friendly fuel in combined heat and power plants (CHP). In Germany, due to the "Biokraftstoffquotengesetz" (Biofuel Quota Act), the addition of biodiesel to conventional diesel with up to 7% (B7) is mandatory. If the biodiesel is used as pure fuel (B100), the specifications of the engine manufacturer must be complied with.
